My creative process is just as important as the product to me. The images I create come out of a place of deep love for my creator and creation. You will find me singing along to worship songs and sometimes even dancing as I work in my studio. 

Through my work I express my feelings, my thoughts, my prayers.  

This fall I felt frustrated and left wanting more but unsure how to get where I wanted to go as a painter. One morning in December, after struggling for hours the previous night on one painting, I had a revelation: I had been treating painting like it was drawing, and 

I needed to see painting for the gifts it brings instead of trying to make it behave like pastels.   

One of the gifts of acrylic painting is it can be used in so many different ways. Acrylic paint  can flow like watercolor and it can be applied in thick and textured layers. So, I bought some gel medium, my first collection of palette knives, researched other artist techniques, and 

then tried something entirely new!  

I am so glad I took the risk of mixing things up and trying new ways of painting because I have found a way of painting that fits me.  Using palette knives to apply thick layers of paint has given me the looseness and freedom I need to create from a place of praise, prayer, and love.
