I have a secret to share with you. You don't have to travel halfway around the world to experience breathtaking seascapes. I have been to stunning beaches in the Philippines, Greece, and Norway - but none of them have surprised me and captivated my imagination, like the section of the Oregon Coast I visited over Memorial Day weekend. 

After looking at the tide schedule, I decided to take advantage of the year's lowest tides and explore the Samuel Boardman Corridor along the southern Oregon coastline. We parked at an unmarked trailhead near Arch Rock and hiked down a short but steep trail. As we emerged from the forest, we were greeted by a waterfall, stunning sea stacks, vibrant tide pools, hidden sea arches, and cavernous caves. We found ourselves in a hidden paradise, a secret beach. 

This trip sparked so many ideas for new paintings! I look forward to continuing to share the beauty I experience in the world with you through my work.
